Carlie Heineman has been named Director of Women’s Basketball Operations at the College of Charleston announced Head Coach Robin Harmony.

Heineman reunites with Harmony, Associate Head Coach Randy Schneider and Assistant Coach Cameron Jones after spending the past season as a graduate assistant at Lamar University, helping with all aspects of the program over the 2018-19 season in which the Cardinals finished with a 24-7 record and in the WNIT First Round. Heineman will serve a crucial behind-the-scenes role on the Cougars staff, managing the team's budget, equipment orders, travel arrangements and day-to-day scheduling.

“Carlie will be a great asset to our players and staff here in Charleston,” Harmony said. “She’s very organized, so intelligent, she’s a great addition and will help tremendously in keeping our program organized.”

Heineman spent her four-year collegiate playing career at the University of Texas - San Antonio. The 6'0' guard saw playing time all four seasons for the Roadrunners, including a starting role in her final two seasons. She averaged 7.3 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists a game while shooting just over 35% from beyond the arc. Her 192 three-pointers (69 made threes in her senior season alone) is the second-most by a Roadrunner in their career with Heineman named to the Conference USA (C-USA) Commissioner's Honor Roll all four seasons while also earning the league's academic medal all four years.

A native of San Antonio, Texas, Heineman earned her bachelor’s degree in English from UTSA in May of 2017, and began pursuing her master’s degree in English in her senior season of basketball. She finished her MA in English while serving as a graduate assistant at Lamar.
