College of Charleston women's basketball head coach Robin Harmony has announced the hiring of Greg Long as the program's newest assistant coach in April of 2025.
“We are excited to have Greg join our program with his 20 years of coaching experience,” says Harmony. “He was recruiting ties and will be a great presence on the court and will continue to help us grow and compete for championships.”
Long joins the Cougars from Mississippi College, where he served five years as head coach. In his time with the Choctaws, Long led the program to their first two winning seasons since returning to Division II. He also coached Mississippi College to three conference tournament berths and their first regional ranking back in Division II from 2015-2017.
Long also served as head coach at University of Arkansas at Monticello in 2019-2020, leading his team to a 20-11 record and the program’s best start since 1977.
After a short stint with Trinity Catholic High School in 2013-2014, Long returned to collegiate coaching at Central Arkansas, where he assisted the program to its first two NCAA Tournament berths and Southland Conference Tournament championships, along with a Southland regular-season championship and the program’s first national postseason tournament victories as the Sugar Bears advanced to the championship game of the 2018 WBI.
